Vintage Straw Cloche Hat With Flower, Vintage Hat, 1950s Hat 。This style of cloche was all the rage back in the 1930s\', and this beautiful hat is proof of it. The rounded crown is made of off-white straw, and is surrounded with an asymmetrical short brim which is covered in red velour on the bottom side, which is upturned at the front. There is a curled, wired strip of red velour attached to the front brim, which is trimmed with small pearls. Women’s 1930s hats were small and simple in decoration, yet their shaping was a work of art. Cloche hats or otherwise called slouch hats were a very fitted hat usually made of a felt material that were bell shaped. The front brim could be floppy or sturdy and was used to cover the forehead and eyes. Hats were normally worn asymmetrically & slightly tilted or propped to one side of the head. There is no label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. NOTE: This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition, and the straw part of the hat shows its age as shown in photo #6. This is typical of light colored hats of the era, especially if they had been exposed to humidity. This hat has been preserved intact in a moth and climate controlled room, together with over 1300 ladies\' vintage hats we have collected for over 40 years.
