A nisselue is a traditional Norwegian red, knitted, pointed 。Hand knit Norwegian nisselue, worn by the nisse (Scandinavian folklore gnome). Historically, a symbol of national unity and non-violent resistance against the Nazi occupation of Norway during WWII. The \"Melt the ICE\" hat initiative has adopted the nisselue as a symbol of protest, with proceeds from knitting patterns supporting immigrant aid organizations.
